Former UFC Champ Matt Serra Handles Drunk Guy In Restaurant Confrontation

As a former fighter who once defeated Georges St-Pierre for the welterweight title, Matt Serra is due to be inducted into the UFC Hall of Fame tonight.

His dinner the night before didn’t quite go to plan, however.

One of the stars of ‘Dana White’s Looking For A Fight’ was out at Red Rock restaurant on Wednesday with the UFC president himself. A rowdy customer who was causing trouble and eventually swung at the 4th degree black belt in BJJ interrupted proceedings.

Serra wrote on Instagram:

“How do you spend the night before your @ufc HOF induction?!? You subdue some asshole drunk that was threatening waiters then tries to swing on you. #jiujitsu”

The New Yorker easily subdued the troublemaker, gently straddling him and serving as a stark reminder that trying to fight a former UFC champion will always end in tears.

Given Serra’s love of food since his retirement, the drunk is very lucky that the 44-year-old showed faultless restraint having been coaxed from the dinner table.
