What could potentially become the next great rivalry in the sport has just heated up with Donald Cerrone’s comments at UFC 194.
When asked about a potential future fight with Conor McGregor, UFC Lightweight contender Donald Cerrone didn’t hold back.
McGregor has previously stated his intention to immediately move up to lightweight and take on the winner of ‘Cowboy’ Cerrone’s title bout with Rafael Dos Anjos this weekend.
Cowboy is enthusiastic at the prospect.
“If Conor’s got something to say, we can figure it the f*** out”, said Cerrone in an interview.
“I got no personal hate, or beef, with Conor but if he wants to come to 155lbs I’d be a f***ing fool not to engage that fight.”
In another conversation at the same event, the kickboxer was asked how a fight with the Irishman would go down.
“I’d knock the f***ing s**t outta that kid”, was Cerrone’s response.
“He’s too small to come to 155 [pounds]. His jaw’s powerful, he can talk for sure, but he won’t fare with the top [guys]. He might fare well against the lower ranked guys, but throw him in with the top ten? No way.”
Before Donald Cerrone can even entertain the notion, he’s got to overcome an incredibly tough Brazilian this Saturday at UFC Fight Night.
