The UFC president revealed to Colin Cowherd of FOX Sports that Daniel Cormier will still compete this Saturday night.
Following the USADA violation of UFC 200 main event opponent Jon Jones, Cormier was seemingly left high and dry just three days out from the marquee event. His sombre reaction to the shocking news told the story.
Dana White was adamant though that ‘DC’ would indeed still get his opportunity on the promotion’s biggest ever event.
“Daniel Cormier will fight this weekend.” White stated. “Later today we’ll hopefully know who he’ll fight.”
Multiple UFC fighters clamoured to get the call-up, but newly-crowned middleweight champion Michael Bisping won’t be among the contenders according to White.
“There’s tons of guys interested. We’ll get a fight done, but Michael Bisping is in no condition to fight Cormier.”
As for the revelations surrounding Jones’ failed drug test, White said that the former light heavyweight king was actually flagged for two different substances.
“It would be hitting the lottery for Jon’s B-sample test to come up negative.”

Alexander Gustafsson and Gergard Mousasi (who’s already scheduled to fight on the UFC 200 card) appear to be the early favourites for the pay-per-view berth.
