Watch: Conor McGregor Renews Training With Movement Coach Ido Portal

Ahead of his UFC 202 tilt against Nate Diaz in August, Conor McGregor has reverted to the ‘movement’ ethic once again.

Since his loss to Diaz at UFC 196 in March, Conor McGregor has trained with boxers and jiu-jitsu experts in order to gain an edge on his conqueror.

Conspicuous by his absence in the training footage, movement expert Ido Portal appeared to depart from camp McGregor in the fallout of UFC 196, which saw him eviscerated by Nate Diaz prior to the March showdown. Portal’s methods are eccentric to say the least, drawing much mirth from the MMA community in the process.

“Who do you train with? You’ve got that little goofy motherfucker with you. I have real training partners,” Diaz said in March.

“Top 10 fighters, Top 10 boxers, Top 10 jiu-jitsu guys, Top 10 kickboxers. You’re playing touch-butt with that dork in the park with the pony tail. And I’m the one who don’t got no training partners? I don’t think so.”

Despite the public ridicule, Portal has reunited with the UFC featherweight champion ahead of his rematch.
