Yoel Romero and Paulo Costa are once again being lined up to face off in a middleweight top-contender showdown, this time at UFC 241.
For a while, it did seem as though this massive middleweight matchup was going to be lost to us.
The two-time former title challenger Romero has not been seen in action since his UFC 225 championship matchup against Robert Whittaker, an instant classic in which the Cuban former Olympian came up short.
The fight itself showcased The Soldier Of God at his finest, with all of his athletic gifts on display to their fullest in a matchup that many people had scored in his favour.
Under different circumstances, Romero could well have left the arena as the champion but now, according to the reports turned in by ESPN‘s Ariel Helwani, the UFC are looking to book a showdown between him and the powerful contender Paulo Costa for UFC 241.
Yoel Romero vs. Paulo Costa has been verbally agreed to for UFC 241 on Aug. 17 in Anaheim, according to sources. More in a moment, including a great quote from Costa.

Costa, who was last seen in action in July of 2018 against Uriah Hall, has been tipped for great things at 185lbs but in recent times, was forced to overcome some external issues with the anti-doping agency USADA.
Now, with him cleared to fight again, the matchup with Romero is reportedly set to take place on the major August 17 fight-card that will be headlined by the rematch between heavyweight champion Daniel Cormier and the former-champ Stipe Miocic.
