The former-UFC bantamweight champion broke down one of his most polished performances in a recent video uploaded to the UFC’s official YouTube account.
UFC 217 will see the former 135lb champion TJ Dillashaw engage in a grudge match for the ages as he attempts to win back his title by defeating his former-teammate, the current champ, Cody Garbrandt.
On paper, this fight is amongst the very best that the UFC has been able to piece together in some time now but despite the fact that seemingly no one can predict the fight’s outcome with any degree of confidence, one thing that they can all agree on is that the match-up is a potential Fight of the Night-in-the-making.
Dillashaw’s reign atop the bantamweight pile started with a masterful win over the long-time champion Renan Barao – a fight in which he was a massive underdog – but in a recent video uploaded to the official YouTube account of the UFC, he breaks down his near-flawless performance in the rematch, a win that proved beyond any doubt that his prowess in their first offering was no fluke.
The influence that famed-striking coach Duane ‘Bang’ Ludwig has had on Dillashaw’s skillset cannot be stressed enough and in both of his wins over Barao, he was able to successfully showcase the power of his ‘Bang muay-thai’ in a pair of wins that even to this day, could be seen as his defining moments inside the UFC octagon.
Whether he can pull of the same against Cody Garbrandt, remains to be seen.
