The former UFC bantamweight champion Dominick Cruz challenged radio-host Jason Ellis to attempt to land a single punch on his always-hard-to-reach chin.
Dominick Cruz may well go down as the sport of mixed martial arts’ most elusive fighter of all time.
For years, his opponents struggled to even lay a glove on his chin due to his completely unorthodox footwork and head movement and though his 135lb title was taken from him by Team Alpha Male’s Cody Garbrandt late last year, the technical prowess of the Dominator has never once come under question.
His movement inside the octagon makes him something more akin to a complex puzzle for his opponents to solve rather than a standard, run-of-the-mill boxer, grappler or muay-thai fighter. The angles that Cruz has employed over the years have allowed him to successfully mix defense with offense and though his finishing ability perhaps suffers slightly because of this, his talent for outclassing and outpointing his adversaries make him a true legend of the game.
In a recent interview on SiriusXM, Cruz agreed to a fun little wager with the show’s host Jason Ellis that he could avoid being hit in the face for a full three-minutes and it goes without saying that the results make for entertaining viewing.
