Floyd Mayweather’s RIZIN 14 opponent Tenshin Nasukawa’s last in-ring outing was one of the year’s most entertaining fights, a kickboxing super-fight showdown with the elite MMA star, Kyoji Horiguchi.
The announcement that Nasukawa will be fighting the legendary undefeated boxer was perhaps the most surprising news story of the year to date.
For those of you who are (understandably) confused by the news that the famed boxer will sign to fight in RIZIN, we delved into his potential motives in an article that you can find here.
Tenshin, despite being just 20-years-old, is absolutely no joke. Regarded as one of Asia’s premier kickboxing prospects, he has also flirted with mixed martial arts – going 4-0 – and while he has picked up several notable wins inside the ring in kickboxing, perhaps his most memorable showdown came against the former UFC flyweight title-challenger, Kyoji Horiguchi.
Horiguchi lost out to Demetrious Johnson by way of an armbar with 4:59 seconds gone in the fifth round of their contest but in the time since, he has won ten straight and was seen by many as the man to potentially dethrone Mighty Mouse before Henry Cejudo eventually got the job done.
