Tenshin Nasukawa is well and truly putting memories of his first-round TKO loss to boxing legend Floyd Mayweather behind, scoring another massive KO win.
Say what you want about that somewhat farcical contest, Tenshin remains one of the most promising young talents in the game – something he proved once again with a highlight-reel finish in his RISE World Series appearance today.
Nasukawa’s technique is undeniable at this stage, but even he will be pleased with the frankly ridiculous cartwheel-kick knockout he scored on his opponent Federico Roma.
Nasukawa was thrust directly into the public eye on a global scale in late 2018 after being signed to compete against the semi-retired Mayweather in a three-round exhibition boxing match under the RIZIN banner.
The fight itself has been the subject of much debate, with many people questioning the legitimacy of the contest. The much bigger Mayweather was able to score three knockdowns in the first-round before the corner of Nasukawa threw in the towel.
This win for Tenshin today was his first since his matchup against Floyd Mayweather and no matter how you felt about that contest, this 20-year-old clearly has a very, very bright future ahead of him.
