Nate Diaz and Brendan Schaub were involved in a rather heated backstage debate following last night’s showdown between Floyd Mayweather and Conor McGregor.
It’s actually hard to imagine two people with more conflicting views on Conor McGregor than his number-1 fan Brendan Schaub and his great rival Nate Diaz. Funnily enough, these two exuberant personalities clashed in the t-Mobile Arena at last night’s fight and though the resulting debate was heated, don’t hold your breath in the hopes of seeing Stockton’s finest face off inside the octagon with the former UFC heavyweight any time soon, or ever.
Throughout the course of the Money Fight’s memorable buildup, Brendan Schaub has easily been one of the most outspoken voices on the pro-McGregor side, with him even taking his spot alongside Paulie Malignaggi and Mauro Ranallo during SHOWTIME’s coverage from day one, acting as a conduit for those who gave Conor anything more than the puncher’s chance he had been afforded by some of those who weren’t immediately turned away from this fight upon its announcement.
Diaz, of course, shared the octagon with the Irishman on two separate occasions and though he himself has been campaigning for a third encounter – or a similarly large payday – he could not resist showing up on fight night and basking in the hostilities.
McGregor came up short on the night but through his gutsy effort he gained himself a legion of new fans but the fight itself was the cause of a debate between the aforementioned Diaz and Schaub, and though both men have more than enough of a reason to hold some bias, things did get a bit tense the longer the argument went on.
