With the UFC’s interim featherweight champion Max Holloway set to face José Aldo for the undisputed title at UFC 212, remind yourselves of when the Hawaiian destroyed Cub Swanson back in 2015.
Max Holloway’s ascent to the top of the featherweight pile has been quick and merciless. Ever since his 2013 loss to the UFC’s lightweight champion Conor McGregor, Holloway has gone ten-for-ten, dispatching every single opponent that has been placed in front of him including the likes of Anthony Pettis, Jeremy Stephens and Charles Oliviera.
For many, however, his most polished and ultimately impressive performance to date came when he destroyed the veteran Cub Swanson back in 2015, using his superior striking ability to subdue the creative brilliance of his opponent before locking in a beautiful gullotine to finish the job.
The champ, José Aldo has lost just once in his seven years within the UFC but in the 25-year-old Holloway, many have seen the future of the featherweight division and when this pair do finally face off come July, the resulting contest should be nothing short of spectacular.
