Age does not seem to be holding the legendary Mirko Cro Cop back too much at all as he managed to pound his way to his eighth straight victory at the age of 43.
It might not be top-tier guys he’s facing and he might not have the strict regulations of the UFC to contend with but my god has Mirko Cro-Cop taken to the later years of his career with a certain level of finesse.
Now riding the longest winning streak of his career, Cro Cop managed to bring his record since leaving the UFC in 2011 to 9-1, which when you consider how often we see fighters dropping off at that age – no matter where they fight – is pretty impressive.
Cro Cop is best remembered for his days in PRIDE, where his unprecedented skill with head-kicks – in particular, his speedy left kick – caused the phrase ‘right leg, hospital, left leg, cemetery’ to be used to describe his vicious prowess.
Mirko has announced his intention to retire next year but still plans on fighting as much as he can as we move closer to that time.
Now plying his trade at RIZIN, Cro Cop extended his win-streak last night by knocking out Tsuyoshi Kohsaka in the very first round of their matchup, which can be watched below.
