If you needed any more proof that lightweight Khabib Nurmagomedov is one of the scariest fighters in mixed martial arts today, then look no further than these videos showing him grappling with some of the world’s very best.
To say Khabib Nurmagomedov is strong for his size is like declaring to the world that water is wet.
As one of the most fearsome competitors in the UFC today, Nurmagomedov has been able to dismantle each and every one of his 26 opponents to date and on October 6, he is looking to make Conor McGregor number 27.
Khabib trains out of the American Kickboxing Academy (AKA) alongside some of the very best fighters alive, including Daniel Cormier, Luke Rockhold, and Cain Velasquez and despite him competing far below each of those guys at 155lbs, the videos found below show the Dagestani-native handling himself admirably against those bigger men.
Luke Rockhold, by all accounts, is an absolutely huge 185lb-r and given his size and athleticism, could easily be competitive as a light-heavyweight and in the past has even spoken about making the move up 20lbs before all is said and done. Cormier, on the other hand, is, of course, the UFC heavyweight champion and a former Olympic wrestler to boot.
Khabib and the former-UFC and Strikeforce middleweight champion Luke Rockhold go at it in the two clips below.
And this one which features a successful takedown attempt by the Russian on the dual-weight world champ DC.
Khabib’s grappling pedigree is certainly beyond all question at this point but with three of the very finest MMA grapplers at his disposal at AKA, it’s no wonder that the lightweight contender manages to top himself each and every time we see him in action.
