Watch: Jones Returns In Peak Form, Brutally Beats Down Gustafsson For TKO Win

Jon Jones looked better than ever as he managed to effectively shut down the offense of Alexander Gustafsson in the UFC 232 main-event last night.

It was the perfectly methodical Jon Jones performance.

In their first meeting, many people pointed to the difficulties Jon was experiencing with the range of the lanky Swede Gustafsson as a reason for his ability to repeatedly land on the champ but when this second helping came around, things were very different.

Distance management was key for Jones from the off and as the fight went on, he was able to step up his activity noticeably to come away with the third-round TKO stoppage.

The first successful takedown Jon was able to land was one that turned the tide of the fight entirely and from there, he was able to brutally beat down Gus before the referee Mike Beltran was forced to intervene.

The week was, of course, not one without its fair share of controversy for ‘Bones’ and in his post-fight interview, he was quick to thank all of those who have stood by him.

And, of course, the challenge to the reigning heavyweight kingpin Daniel Cormier was to follow – as he dared his former conquest to come to 205lb and prove that he deserves double-champ status.

DC wasn’t about to sit there and allow his great rival to have this moment with a word, though, taking to his official Twitter to react to the victory.
