Joe Rogan watched Donald ‘Cowboy’ Cerrone lose out in a brutal upset defeat to the prospect Darren Till and revealed the worries he has over his health.
It can be hard to see one of your favourite fighters slip into a decline but in the case of welterweight contender Donald Cerrone his third straight defeat has caused many to accept the fact that his best days are perhaps behind him.
As one of the UFC’s most active fighters in history, the future hall-of-famer Cerrone was TKO’d in the very first round of his UFC Gdansk headliner against Darren Till, a fight that many had seen as a bit of a mismatch, given Cowboy’s status as one of the promotion’s biggest stars.
Going into this match-up Cerrone had lost to both Jorge Masvidal and Robbie Lawler but with an unranked opponent facing him down across the octagon, many had felt he would easily make his return to the win-column with an impressive victory on European soil.
In Till, there was some buzz, yes, but many hadn’t afforded him much of a chance going into this one. His unbeaten record – while impressive – hadn’t seen him face anyone with even half the experience that his American opponent had but now, with the fight firmly in the rear-view, the division could well have another legitimate title-contender on its hands.
It was a flawless performance from the Liverpool native and one that has elevated his stock to a completely new level.
Joe Rogan watched the fight live on the latest edition of his Fight Companion podcast and, given his friendship with Cerrone, was quick to raise some concerns about his safety moving forward.
