The two finest colour-commentators in MMA today will join Jon Anik in the booth for UFC 223 and if this newly released promo is anything to go by, it’ll be a match made in heaven.
When the UFC announced that they were picking up the former Bellator colour-commentator Jimmy Smith for their 2018 broadcast team, the reaction – from those who were familiar with him – was one of pure joy.
For years Smith had been working with the UFC’s biggest rival, slowly carving out a reputation for himself as one of the most well-liked and technically astute fight-callers in the game.
With his first few shows already under his belt, Smith has earned himself quite a bit more exposure under the bright lights of the world’s largest MMA promotion and just recently, in a statement made via Instagram, he revealed to us all that himself and Joe Rogan would be joining Jon Anik in the commentary booth for one of the year’s biggest cards, UFC 223.
It was already going to be one helluva night given the strength of the fights on offer but if that wasn’t good enough, both Rogan and Smith teamed up to cut an outstanding promo for the most ancitipated lightweight clash of all-time, Tony Ferguson versus Khabib Nurmagomedov.
