Ronaldo Jacare Souza managed to beat down Chris Weidman on his way to a third-round TKO in the UFC 230 Fight Of The Night.
And what a vicious display it was the Brazilian jiu-jitsu wizard.
Both men had their fair share of strong moments in what amounted to an evenly matched back-and-forth affair. In the third-round, once Weidman started to truly mix it up and pressure his opponent – it did for a brief while seem as though Jacare was starting to wilt.
Then, a strong barrage of punches saw Souza renewed and he started to march down the former middleweight champion – catching him with several hard shots before dropping him a perfect right-hand counter.
After marching menacingly towards the downed All American, Jacare seemed to motion referee Dan Miragliotta to stop the fight – but followed up with strikes before the veteran ref called it.
Ahead of his UFC Fort Lauderdale showdown with Jack Hermansson, relive one of Souza’s most thrilling victories.
