After shocking the world by defeating Demetrious Johnson over the course of five-rounds at UFC 227 last night, Henry Cejudo wasted no time in calling for a super-fight with TJ Dillashaw.
The pound-for-pound king that is Demetrious Johnson was finally ousted from his spot atop the UFC’s flyweight division.
Henry Cejudo managed to impose his gameplan on his opponent enough to edge a win on the scorecards and all things considered, provided us with one of the biggest upset victories of the decade.
Straight after defeating DJ, ‘The Messenger’ joined Joe Rogan and used his platform as champ to call out the winner of the night’s main-event fixture between bantamweight champion TJ Dillashaw and Cody Garbrandt.
Following his destruction of Cody Garbrandt in the very first round of their 135lb title rematch, TJ took to the mic and told Cejudo to ‘bring it’.
It’s too early to say if Dana and co. should decide that this the fight to make and it isn’t the showdown with the former-champ Johnson that we would have hoped for, but either way, the UFC’s flyweight division has gotten a much-needed kick as we move towards the end of 2018.
