Two of the sport of MMA’s greatest legends Fedor Emelianenko and Frank Mir will clash in the latest quarter-final bout of the Bellator Heavyweight Grand-Prix.
They may be well past their respective primes but this weekend’s Bellator 198 hosts a pretty intriguing heavyweight grand-prix clash between Fedor Emelianenko and Frank Mir.
Emelianenko has been regarded as not only the finest heavyweight to ever do it, but also one of the greatest martial artists to have ever lived. For twenty-eight fights over the course of ten years, Fedor was untouchable. He holds wins over Mirko Cro-Cop, Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira, Mark Hunt, Andrei Arlovski and Mark Coleman – to name but a few – and with one last apparent piece of silverware up for grabs in his career, it will be interesting to see which version of the Last Emperor shows up to face Mir tomorrow night.

Mir, on the other hand, is one of the finest BJJ practitioners to ever fight as a heavyweight. Best known for his arm-breaking kimura submission of Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira back in 2011, he holds wins over Mirko Cro-Cop, Brock Lesnar, Antonio Silva and Roy Nelson, winning the UFC interim-heavyweight title with his win over the aforementioned Minotauro Nogueira.
