Watch: Dillon Danis Delivers With Slick First-Round Submission Win In Debut

Dillon Danis brought home the win after encountering some early adversity in his matchup with Kyle Walker at Bellator 198 last night.

One of the year’s most hyped MMA debuts happened last night as Dillon Danis finally made his transition from the grappling circuit to the MMA cage and while he was tagged a few time on the feet in the opening exchanges, when he managed to get the fight to the ground it was practically over.

Pulling guard, he caught a hold of his opponent’s leg before forcing the tap just under two minutes into the fight.

Facing Kyle Walker, Danis was given a suitable dance-partner for his debut. Sure, people are going to jump on his striking defense and wonder at why he wasn’t tested with a higher level of test but those very same people just don’t seem to understand how pro-debuts work.

All in all, an impressive display of grappling from Danis but more importantly, a learning experience – one he can build on as we now await his second cage appearance.
