Daniel Cormier became the first man to successfully defend titles in two different weight-classes with a dominant victory over Derrick Lewis.
The champ-champ now has even more of a right to call himself by that title it seems!
There was a decent amount of hype heading into this one but when the octagon doors closed, it became evident very quickly that the gap in skill between these two would be too vast for Lewis to conquer.
A grappling clinic has never been beyond the capabilities of the former Olympian DC but with his second-round submission, he managed to hammer home the sheer level of his talent.
It’s important to note that Cormier took this fight on short-notice with an injured hand, something that makes it even more impressive.

The future isn’t immediately clear for Daniel Cormier right now but with yet another rising force nullified as a contender, you’d have to assume that his next bout will be a lucrative one.
