Watch: Chael Sonnen Believes Cormier Will Outweigh Miocic At UFC 226

LAS VEGAS, NV - JULY 08: Mixed martial artist Daniel Cormier poses on the scale during his weigh-in for UFC 200 at T-Mobile Arena on July 8, 2016 in Las Vegas, Nevada. Chael Sonnen has made a very interesting point about the weights of the two fighters competing in UFC 226’s super-fight main-event.

The light-heavyweight champion of the world, Daniel Cormier, will make a return to the heavyweight division when he takes on its champ, Stipe Miocic at UFC 226.

For many, the fight boils down to a heroic attempt by the 205lb kingpin Cormier at defying the odds and taking out the bigger man, in Miocic, who has established himself as the most dominant force the division has ever known.

And while his height and reach will no doubt see DC dwarfed by the larger Miocic, the former UFC star Chael Sonnen doesn’t believe that there will be a weight-difference between the two and furthermore, would not be surprised if the supposedly smaller man ends up outweighing Stipe on the night.

Taking to his official YouTube channel, Chael had this to say on the UFC 226 main-event.

It’s a very interesting take when you stop and think about it. Cormier’s frame and overall physique is pretty unique at 205lbs and with many pointing to his wrestling as a key factor in taking out the longtime 265lb champion, could Chael be on to something with this one?
