The Cage Warriors bantamweight title was contested last night and it produced one of the most insane comeback wins you will ever bear witness to.
It doesn’t get any better than this, folks!
Last night the eyes of the combat sporting world were firmly fixed on boxing’s super-fight between Saul ‘Canelo’ Alvarez and Gennady Golovkin but believe it or not, it was the UK-based MMA promotion Cage Warriors and their bantamweight title contest that may well have stolen the show, despite the relatively low attention it attracted in comparison.
Nathaniel Wood took on Josh Reed at Cage Warriors 86 in the hopes of defending his 135lb strap and though the challenger was able to put a pretty brutal beating on the champ, one punch from Wood managed to sway the fight’s momentum dramatically, giving him the space needed to put together a flurry of strikes and end the fight in the very first round.
Not much else needs to be said about this ridiculous skirmish, but everything from the crowd reaction to the elated shouts coming from the commentators prove that those sitting in The O2 in London that night witnessed something simply remarkable.

For all the talk about the controversy surrounding the aforementioned Canelo/GGG, it’s refreshing to see true heroics like this go down on the European circuit, proving that the MMA scene across the pond is well and truly on the rise.
