Ariel Helwani bid farewell to his role on The MMA Hour yesterday and had both Urijah Faber and Dominick Cruz on the show as his final guests.
Ariel Helwani’s run as the host of the immensely popular and influential mixed martial arts show The MMA Hour came to an end last night after over 400 episodes dating back to the year 2009.
Virtually every fighter who has ever competed at the highest level has joined Ariel in some way, shape or form and with the announcement that he would be retiring the show after a hugely successful run, the two final guests who joined him made for a perfect end to what has been a memorable piece of MMA programming.
Urijah Faber was the first to ever join Helwani on the show back when it started and with him scheduled to act as the final ever guest, his great rival, Dominick Cruz, called in and the pair had a moment on-air that visibly delighted the host.

And just like that, he was gone. Helwani will join up with ESPN and leave his role at MMAFighting. He posted the following picture below – closing off a memorable era for the sport’s growth.
