Unbeaten Bellator featherweight AJ McKee extended his unbeaten record to 13-0 with a slick first-round submission of Daniel Crawford at Bellator 212.
McKee just seems to be getting better and better with each passing fight and with the challenge that he was presented with last night in the former BAMMA champion Crawford, he managed to turn in one of his slickest finishes to date.
Tying up his man with a smooth anaconda choke, AJ was able to adjust and get the tap in the opening round.
Divisional champion Patricio Freire is riding a three-fight win streak that has seen him defend his belt on two occasions.
Featherweight is pretty stacked at the moment and it will be interesting to see if Bellator are willing to take a chance and place one of their brightest future stars under the big lights at this point.
We had the opportunity to speak with AJ McKee in the leadup to his victory in Hawaii last night and in that interview, he revealed that he has his eyes set on Bellator 145lb gold – giving us the exact timeframe he has in mind for his long-awaited crack at the title.
