Tyron Woodley has opened up as the favourite over Colby Covington as they edge closer to eventually meeting in a title-unification bout inside the octagon.
UFC 225 saw the divisive newly-crowned interim welterweight champion Colby Covington prove that he was more than just a big mouth. Ok, well, he’s still majority big-mouth, but with his win over Rafael dos Anjos he at least proved that he is an elite fighter.
For five rounds in the night’s co-main event, Colby pressured the pressure fighter RDA, gradually breaking his will – and while the Brazilian did fight back well at times, it was well and truly Covington’s night when all was said and done.
With a unification matchup with the champ Tyron Woodley now set in stone for an unconfirmed date in the future, we do look to be gearing up for a truly tense buildup. Woodley has made it very clear that he has nothing but disdain for Colby and that he is looking forward to putting a beating on him when they meet.
With that, the betting lines have gone live for this fight and unsurprisingly, it is the champ that is the favourite, although not by as big a margin as you would perhaps assume.
With Woodley at (-140), a €100 bet would win you back €71.43, on top of your original bet, while Covington at (+110), would see you net an extra €110.
All that needs to happen now is the actual fight. We look forward to seeing what the UFC has in store for what could be a welterweight clash for the ages.
