The Very Best Twitter Reactions After Bellator 198

Conor McGregor, Daniel Cormier and more were among those who let their feelings about last night’s Bellator 198 be known via Twitter.

Bellator 198 was a brief and brutal event that brought some pretty slick finishes to the table on its main-card. Of course, the bulk of the attention was fixated on the main-event pairing of the former PRIDE champion Fedor Emelianenko and Frank Mir and all things considered, it did not disappoint.

Done and dusted within one minute, both men had their moments but it was the Russian Fedor who upset the odds and put Mir away with a strong left-hand. Obviously, these guys have taken more than their fair share of punishment over the years but Twitter’s MMA following didn’t hesitate to give credit where it was due to what amounted to a fun fight between two fan favourites.

Elsewhere, the second-biggest talking point of the night stemmed from the pro-debut of Dillon Danis, who after talking a big talk, managed to submit his opponent Kyle Walker with a toe-hold, again, in the very first round.

Danis will obviously make a step up in competition in time but for what it was worth, he was able to get a good taste for MMA, with him taking a few shots on the feet.

Of course, Danis’ training partner, the former featherweight and lightweight champion of the UFC, Conor McGregor, also paid his respects following the first-round sub.
