Stipe Miocic was able to overcome some adversity to TKO heavyweight champion Daniel Cormier in the fourth round in the UFC 241 main-event.
No matter which way the belt went in the end, it was pretty clear from the get-go that we were tuning in to see a clash between two of the greatest heavyweights in the sport’s history.
And as long as it lasted, this was the type of war that proved that an immediate rematch was warranted following DC’s original victory over the newly-reinstated champion at UFC 226.
This time around, four rounds were needed for Stipe to truly steal away the fight’s momentum, utilising a focus on body-shots to begin to break down the defense of DC before eventually finishing him with a barrage of strikes.

Speaking to Joe Rogan directly after the fight, Miocic explained how his change in approach finally led him to the openings that eventually saw him find the gap necessary to really hurt his man.
Cormier, on the other hand, wouldn’t commit to an answer right away when pressed for some information about his fighting future, but nevertheless explained his disappointment at coming up short in such shocking fashion.
