Anderson Silva Responds To Conor McGregor Call-Out

Anderson Silva didn’t take too long to respond to Conor McGregor’s interest in potentially taking him on inside the octagon in the future.

It was a rather bizarre thing to hear Conor McGregor express his desire to test himself against the former UFC middleweight champion of the world Anderson Silva.

Sure, the Brazilian is far past his best, but in truth, with such a vast gap in size, the notion of seeing a guy who once fought at 145lbs take on a man who had a successful run in the UFC at 205lbs would be frankly insane.

The idea that these two could meet at welterweight would make things very interesting but in reality, it’s pretty unlikely that we ever see it happen.

That didn’t stop Anderson from taking to his official Instagram to accept Conor’s challenge.

Translated from Portuguese-to-English, the statement reads as follows:

“It would be a great honor to test myself for “fighting” with Conor McGregor. He is an eclectic fighter, and has already proven that he has to be respected. Let’s make this happen!

“The UFC wants super fights, I’m sure fans from all 4 corners of the world want to see this fight. I professionally believe it would be awesome to test my martial skills with a fighter like Conor Mcgregor a real super fight!

“Now he is focused on his fight against Khabib Nurmagomedov, after this fight I am ready for this challenge! When and where he wants.”
