Former UFC champ Robbie Lawler finally is ready to make his return to the UFC and it looks set to be an absolute barnburner.
The UFC’s former welterweight champion Robbie Lawler has been something of a quiet figure in the world of MMA of late, especially given the fact that he recently featured in two of the greatest title fights of this era.
Now, however, with nine months having passed since his UFC 201 championship loss to Tyron Woodley, he finally looks set to make his return to professional competition as Dana White has confirmed that his next bout is a done deal.
Brett Okamoto of ESPN broke the news recently that Lawler will be taking on fellow fan-favourite Donald Cerrone at UFC 213 in Las Vegas and although the UFC have yet to make the announcement, all signs point to this bout being officially confirmed in the coming hours.

No fights have been announced in any official capacity for UFC 213 but it is expected the former heavyweight champion Fabricio Werdum will also appear on the card, facing Alistair Overeem in a bout that will have huge ramifications for the division as a whole.
UFC 213 will take place during international fight week in July (traditionally one of the MMA promotion’s biggest cards of the year) with Lawler vs Cerrone now featured to take the co-main event slot.
