An Old-Foe Has Offered To Replace Volkan Oezdemir In Title-Showdown With Daniel Cormier

One of the division’s most feared competitors has offered to step up and face the 205lb champ Daniel Cormier following the news that his assumed opponent Volkan Oezdemir was recently arrested.

Daniel Cormier’s defense of his light-heavyweight title was pegged to take place at UFC 220 with a fight against Volkan Oezdemir but now, after it emerged that ‘No Time’ had been arrested on battery charges in Florida recently, it appears as though DC’s future is once again unclear.

One man who does not appear to be afraid to step up and take on the dominant champ is the British powerhouse Jimi Manuwa, who once actually engaged in some heated back-and-forth verbal warfare with the former-Olympian, something that makes his call-out somewhat fitting.

Now, with Cormier once again without an opponent, Manuwa has come through for a second time with a call to fight, which – when you consider the landscape at 205lbs right now, wouldn’t make for the worst idea.

Of course, Manuwa himself succumbed to a knockout loss in the very first minute of his last outing – against Volkan Oezdemir – but still, his ferocious knockout power will make him a threat to anyone in the division and if this fight does indeed get booked, there’s every chance that he could pull off the upset.
