Conor McGregor has taken a shot at his old rival Floyd Mayweather after his decision to sign to fight Tenshin Nasukawa at RIZIN 14.
For those of you who are (understandably) confused by the news that the famed boxer will sign to fight in RIZIN, we delved into his potential motives in an article that you can find here.
When the news broke, it was honestly one of those moments where you were forced to just sit back and take a breath.
For all the moves Mayweather could have made, a fight against one of Japan’s hottest fighting prospects was so far down that list that it would have been laughed at if anyone even mentioned the possibility in the days and weeks beforehand.
Conor McGregor took to his official Instagram page in the hours following the announcement to deliver a backhanded compliment – if you can even call it that – to Mayweather and his latest dance partner.
Not much is known about Conor’s fighting future as of right now but according to UFC president Dana White, he spoke to the Irishman for an hour about his plans recently and it does seem as though the former champ is willing to take a contender fight before stepping back in there with Khabib Nurmagomedov once again.
I’m guessing that we’ll have to wait until 2019 for more information on that front, though.
