Kiefer Crosbie’s US debut at Bellator 224 came to an unfortunate close as he suffered DQ loss after striking his opponent Mike Jackson with an illegal knee.
Crosbie was just a shot or two away from taking a dominant first-round finish back home to Ireland with him as he put on a clinical display, one that would have moved him to 7-0 as a pro.
However, the fight was called to a sudden halt as he moved in for the finish after he managed to do some serious damage to Jackson on the feet.
A knee while his opponent was considered to be down caused the referee to intervene and immediately, you could tell that Kiefer knew that he had made a fatal mistake.
To his credit, BDK was full of respect for his opponent directly afterwards, embracing him and expressing his apologies for how the fight panned out.

One would have to assume that the SBG welterweight will be in line for a return to the Bellator cage once the promotion make their return to Dublin’s 3Arena in September and after this unfortunate result, he’ll no doubt be gearing up to make a serious statement about his intentions.
