Khabib Nurmagomedov’s manager has lashed out at his client’s great rival, Tony Ferguson, claiming that their long-awaited fight has been set in stone for yet another date.
Nurmagomedov-Ferguson is one of those rivalries that has tested the patience of fight fans in recent times. On three separate occasions so far we have been promised a clash between these two world-class lightweights and though we came within touching distance at UFC 209, a last-minute pullout on the part of the Russian Khabib caused the bout to be cancelled just hours before it was due to take place.
Issues with his already-strenuous weight-cut got the better of ‘the Eagle’ in the final stages of his preparation and for the fans, the hurt that was caused by the fact that we were deprived of what is being hailed as potentially the greatest lightweight showdown of all time has seen many lash out at Khabib, with them citing the fact that he was spotted eating tiramisu during an episode of UFC 209: Embedded as evidence of his lack of professionalism.
Tony Ferguson, though initially respectful and classy in his reaction, has taken a more hostile approach to reminding Nurmagomedov of his failures in recent times, and on Wednesday, after he posted yet another tiramisu-themed joke to his official Twitter page, Khabib’s manager Ali Abdelaziz rushed to his fighter’s defence while claiming that a new date has been set for what will hopefully be the last time these two are scheduled to fight before they actually face off.
Keep talking shit punk now we have a date is the talk is over

It’s nothing concrete as of right now, but at least fans can rejoice in the knowledge that we are getting closer to seeing this truly tantalising match-up becoming a reality.
