John Kavanagh joined Robin Black on his Dublin live-show last night and made it clear that he believes Khabib Nurmagomedov will be next for Conor McGregor.
It’s not concrete. It’s not even close to being confirmed, but by the sounds of things – the fighting future of Conor McGregor appears to be finally coming to a proper resolution.
At this stage, it could well be two years on from UFC 205 before we see the former champ-champ in action again but with talk of him getting an immediate shot at the lightweight strap-holder Khabib Nurmagomedov intensifying, do not be surprised to see some serious movement on this front in the coming weeks.
Coach John Kavanagh was a guest during a live show in Dublin that was conducted by MMA analyst Robin Black and at one point in the night’s offering, he was quizzed by Black about his fighter’s prospects of getting in there with Khabib.
His response was pretty positive, to say the least.

With Conor’s legal issues seemingly in the process of being sorted, a lot more will be known about his status as a mixed martial artist by the time his next date in court next month is through.
Until then, such speculation is all well and good – but until we see it in writing, it’s hard to get too excited.
