Justin Gaethje Is Reportedly Set For Another Classic Matchup

Justin Gaethje has been linked to yet another potential classic in the making after his run in the UFC has seen him emerge as a fan-favourite.

Maybe Justin Gaethje needs a break, but from the looks of things, he doesn’t appear to be slowing down whatsoever.

The fan-favourite former WSOF champ, in his three UFC bouts to date, has been involved in three bonafide classics. And while he has won just one out that trio, the manner in which he has fought has endeared him to virtually everyone who tuned in to watch.

The problem with recklessly throwing your heart and soul into every contest like ‘The Highlight’ does is that the damage he has been taking has been adding up and as we all know full well, the consequences of failing to adequately protect yourself can be terrifying.

Al Iaquinta spoke during a recent edition of his podcast Call Me Al  and teased the idea that the UFC are interested in setting up a matchup between him and Gaethje.

“We’re hoping for sometime in August. August, September. I think they wanted it to be sooner, but like, that guy needs a rest. I was looking out for his health with that one. He needs a break for a minute.

“If it goes down the way it’s supposed to, it’ll be a good fight, a tough fight,”

No matter where the venue, no matter what the number of rounds I think I can speak for everyone when I say that the UFC need to make this matchup sooner rather than later.
