Jon Jones Roasts Former Room-Mate Colby Covington In Merciless Twitter Tirade

Jon Jones brought his former-roommate Colby Covington back down to earth recently with a pretty hilarious Twitter rant aimed in his direction.

Jon Jones’ year has seen him play a pivotal role in some of the biggest stories that 2017 has had to offer, something that seen him on the end of both immense praise and near-unanimous disgust but now, following a period of complete and utter uncertainty – it appears as though Jones is finally willing to reinsert himself into the MMA community, or at least in terms of his activity on social media it seems.

UFC 214 saw Jones complete a comeback for the ages as he knocked out his long time rival Daniel Cormier to retain his light-heavyweight title but in the fall-out of that career-defining effort, a failed drug-test administered by USADA stole away virtually all of the shine that came with his awe-inspiring victory.

Now, following a rather public altercation between UFC welterweight Colby Covington and heavyweight Fabricio Werdum, Jones – who once shared a college dorm with Covington – responded to the incident and voiced his approval of the Brazilian’s actions.

Now, despite their history, Jones managed to go one step further by unleashing a pretty vicious Twitter attack on the rising welterweight star and whether you love or hate either guy, it all made for some pretty entertaining stuff.

For a man so infamously vocal in the past, it’s surprising to see how quiet Colby has been in response to this but in truth, after the news emerged that he was being sent home from Sydney as a result of his behaviour, perhaps Covington’s brash nature has finally seem him cross a line with the UFC brass.
