Johnny Walker is reportedly set to face off against either Dominick Reyes or Corey Anderson, as the UFC look to introduce him into the upper-echelons of the 205lb division.
Walker’s UFC run has been among the electric rises we’ve seen from a contender in the promotion in quite some time.
A dynamic knockout artist in every sense of the word, every test that Walker has faced so far has been passed by him in brutal fashion in under two minutes.
And make no mistake, this guy has not been fighting cans.
Knockouts of Khalil Rountree, Misha Cirkunov, and Justin Ledet have seen Walker jump to #12 in the admittedly thin 205lb rankings and now, according to reports, he is being lined up for a big test of his abilities.
Aaron Bronsteter of TSN reported first that the talented young Brazilian is being looked at for a showdown with either the #8-ranked Corey Anderson or the #5-ranked Dominick Reyes.
I'm told Johnny Walker is back to full training and medical clearance has not been requested by the UFC yet. He is looking to either main event a card in August or September or appear on main card of UFC 242.
Likely opponents are Dom Reyes or Corey Anderson should they accept. https://t.co/ucHsBJGbt3

The true tests of his clear potential will no doubt come in the future but if Walker can finish the year 2019 with a bang, one would have to assume that he’ll be on a fast-track to a shot at Jon Jones before too long.
