James Gallagher Submits Roman Salazar In 35 Seconds

James Gallagher made short work of his Bellator Dublin opponent Roman Salazar, submitting him within 35 seconds of the opening bell.

After his originally scheduled opponent Cal Ellenor was forced to withdraw from their contest, taking a matchup against the tricky veteran Roman Salazar was a risky move for the Irishman, but a move he made regardless.

When the time came to fight, James made it look easy, wrapping up his opponent in a gullotine after tying up with Salazar in one of the early exchanges.

Though his opponent made an attempt to obstruct his breathing, The Strabanimal had already done the damage, sinking in the fight-ending choke – extending his current streak of wins to three and his professional record to 10-1.

With this victory Gallagher has done wonders in dispelling the memories of his shocking first-round defeat at the hands of Ricky Bandejas and now, he finds himself on a very solid run of form in one of Bellator’s strongest divisions.

What the future holds for him is anyone’s guess but after back-to-back Dublin headliners, I think it’s fair to say that the future is bright for the 22-year-old.
