Israel Adesanya was in the middle of doing some backstage media work when he witnessed Jorge Masvidal’s incredible five-second KO of Ben Askren at UFC 239.
All things considered, UFC 239 lived up to its billing in every sense of the word.
With a main-card that produced some soon-to-be-iconic moments, by far the biggest shock of the night came about when Jorge Masvidal handed the former Bellator and WSOF champion Ben Askren the first loss of his mixed martial arts career in the space of five short seconds.
Masvidal, who is now the owner of the fastest KO in UFC history, vaulted towards Funky as soon as the opening bell rang, his knee colliding directly with the dome of the famed wrestler, ending his night brutally and completely unexpectedly.
