Gilbert Burns Edges Out Gunnar Nelson On Scorecards At UFC Copenhagen

Gunnar Nelson came up short in his UFC Copenhagen main-card showdown against Gilbert Burns, losing out on the cards by unanimous decision.

It was a matchup of elite grapplers in Denmark as black-belts collided over the course of three rounds in Copenhagen.

In matchups like this, it would be easy to assume that we would be treated to a jiu-jitsu showcase but tonight’s fight displayed these two exchanging blows on the feet – the type that would eventually decide the fight.

Though certainly evenly matched, Burns was the one who was able to land the harder shots of the two – with one knee, in particular, standing as one of the most decisive moments of the night.

In the end, the judges saw the fight in favour of the Brazilian – scoring him as the unanimous decision victor when all was said and done.
