The former welterweight champion Georges St-Pierre has posted a bizarre first-person preview of what Michael Bisping can expect on Saturday night.
Georges St-Pierre’s UFC return might not yet be reaching the huge levels of hype one might expect as we edge closer to UFC 217 this weekend, but we can safely assume that as Saturday draws closer the buzz surrounding his comeback will spark dramatically.
His middleweight title ambition will, of course, see him take on Michael Bisping in the night’s main event and while many have criticised the very fact that the fight is taking place, when it finally comes around there should be no doubts over exactly how compelling a matchup it actually is.
The questions that loom over GSP’s decision to make the step up to 185lbs after such a long-layoff justify its spot at the top of what is a completely stacked card from start-to-finish and while St-Pierre is a surprising underdog to the veteran Englishman, a video recently posted by ‘Rush’ to his official Instagram account breaks down exactly what will happen to his opponent on fight-night.
The first-person video is a pretty bizarre way to make a point but given his past achievements in the sport, Georges has every reason to be confident that his hand will be raised when all is said and done.
Bisping’s size, takedown-defense and endurance have been pointed to as major x-factors in his attempt to rain on the Canadian’s parade but the history books will tell you that if there is one thing that St-Pierre can guarantee, it’s that his methodical and highly technical approach will make him a handful for whoever it is he faces, regardless of any physical advantages present.
