In the second semi-final of the Bellator heavyweight grand-prix, the legendary Fedor Emelianenko did not take long to absolutely run through Chael Sonnen.
Well there you go. You now have your Bellator heavyweight grand-prix finalists!
Fedor Emelianenko managed to put a bad beating on the former UFC title-challenger Chael Sonnen, dropping him to the canvas in the very first exchange.
Chael is well known for his stint as the UFC middleweight and although he occasionally has dipped into the 205lb ranks, he entered Bellator’s grand-prix as one of its smallest contenders.
From there, it was only a matter of time before ‘The Last Emperor’ was able to get the finish. It came in the later stages of the first round and now, Fedor is on a direct collision course with his fellow finalist, Ryan Bader.

Size and power were always going to be a big factor in this one but in a matchup between the Russian and Bader, it will be very, very interesting to see how the admittedly weathered heavyweight legend and a prime light-heavyweight talent match up.
No word has been given on the date for their fight, but we will be sure to keep you posted as we learn more.
