Dustin Poirier Sick Of Waiting, Calls Out Tony Ferguson

Top UFC lightweight contender Dustin Poirier isn’t willing to wait around as the title-picture at the top of his division gets settled.

As of right now, it seems quite unlikely that we’ll see either Khabib Nurmagomedov or Conor McGregor in action in the early stages of 2019.

Both of their futures are currently in the hands of the Nevada State Athletic Commission following the now-infamous events directly after their UFC 229 showdown in October and by the looks of things, Poirier wants to use their time away to establish himself as the division’s next-in-line.

Calling out the streaking contender Tony Ferguson via Twitter, ‘The Diamond’ urged the UFC to book the fight in order to keep the 155lb division moving to a certain extent.

Ferguson himself had called out the featherweight champion Max Holloway following his highly-impressive victory over the weekend but either way he will surely be hoping to get back into the octagon sooner rather than later.

There’s no doubt that El Cucuy is the top-contender in the division – even before he beat Anthony Pettis at UFC 229. A showdown with Poirier would certainly be a crowd-pleaser too, with both guys known for their magnet attraction towards Performance of the Night bonuses.
