Watch: Derrick Lewis Takes A Hilarious Shot At Francis Ngannou Following UFC 220 Defeat

The always-entertaining heavyweight contender Derrick Lewis took a pretty hilarious shot at the recently defeated Francis Ngannou on Instagram.

Would it be too soon for us to consider this a viable next matchup for ‘The Predator’?

UFC 220 was a relatively successful event, all things considered. The fights, while not exactly mind-blowing, were ones that will have enough of a ripple effect on the current landscape of the sportĀ to give us several huge talking-points to take with us into the latter half of January.

The night’s main event, the eagerly anticipated heavyweight clash between the champ Stipe Miocic and the rising prospect Francis Ngannou, was one that received a hefty amount of promotion from the UFC. And try as they might to tell you otherwise, it was pretty clear that Dana White and co. were banking on a Ngannou victory.

For months, the powerhouse had been practically living in the UFC Performance Institute and with a large portion of the promotional efforts fixated on his power and overall mystique, when the champ Miocic came away in victory, it can’t have been exactly what the UFC brass had hoped to see.

Cardio is king inside the octagon and while Ngannou had his moments, it was the champion who was able to inflict his game on his opponent. With such masses of muscle and such ridiculous explosiveness comes a great tax on one’s body and while it’s understandable to most why Ngannou couldn’t find the balance, that didn’t stop the internet from getting on his back when the fight was through.

Perhaps the pick of the jokes aimed at the unsuccessful contender came from one Derrick Lewis, a man whose own placing in the heavyweight rankings right now would make him perhaps a perfect ‘rebound’ for Francis Ngannou.
