Conor McGregor took aim at an old foe of his, the veteran referee Marc Goddard after footage of a past Cage Warriors victory of his was brought to his attention.
The pair, of course, have something of a sketchy history – a connection that dates back as far as McGregor’s days in Cage Warriors, where the Irishman was able to submit a Goddard-trained fighter Dave Hill to win the promotional featherweight strap.
He would later go on to capture the lightweight title and dual-weight champion status with a first-round KO of Ivan Buchinger before signing with the UFC.
McGregor, who famously jumped over the side of the cage and had something of an altercation with Goddard at Bellator Dublin in 2017, took a shot at the referee and accused him of doing something eerily similar all those years ago after the official Twitter account of Cage Warriors uploaded some archived footage of Conor from 2012.
What a great milestone in Irish MMA’s history!
The behavior of Britain’s Marc Goddard in the corner that night was horrendous. Burst into the cage and attacked referee Neil Hall in between rounds.
The fight was still in play!
Crazy behavior for an up and coming referee!

Goddard’s response was one that didn’t exactly address the accusation but instead, gave props to the Irishman for his achievements of late.
