Conor McGregor posted and then quickly deleted a cryptic tweet, one that potentially hints at him being in the same city as Khabib this weekend.
We’re only a matter of hours removed from Conor McGregor’s second appearance in the Brooklyn courts but now, with him now free to fight inside the octagon once again, speculation is rampant over his immediate future.
October 6 and December 29 seem to be the two dates the UFC have in mind for a showdown between the Irishman and the unbeaten Khabib Nurmagomedov.
The UFC have two shows booked in Las Vegas’ T-Mobile Arena for those two Saturdays, UFC 229 and UFC 232 and while it is still early days – do not be surprised to see something a bit more concrete in the very near future.
Khabib Nurmagomedov appeared at a fan Q&A ahead of UFC Calgary this weekend, promising the world that he will dispatch of Conor in a similar fashion to his previous 26 wins. He’ll no doubt be hanging around to watch his fellow Dagestani-fighters Gadzhimurad Antigulov and Islam Makhachev compete and now, it appears as though he won’t be only top-3 155lb-r in town.
McGregor, who was in New York this week for his day in court, posted and then deleted the following tweet.
Sure, it’s a typo, but with Calgary, Canada the destination for both Khabib and more importantly, UFC president Dana White and his team – are we finally going to get some conclusive talks between some of the most powerful men in the game today?
The UFC even gave Nurmagomedov extra security because of fears of a repeat of the disaster that was the UFC 223 media day.
Khabib said UFC gave him extra security because they thought McGregor would be coming to Calgary. Re: Conor’s tweet: “Why you need calvary? … Just send me location.”
