The internet has once again proven itself to be a place where you can find all of the answers to the questions you had no idea you wanted answers for. A video has been released recently showing two of the most impressive MMA striking combos of the year in a slow-motion from Conor McGregor and Donald Cerrone, in a side-by-side comparison.
The first of the two is the beautiful finish achieved by UFC dual-weight champion Conor McGregor last weekend at UFC 205. McGregor rose to the occasion in every sense of the word and delivered a brutal four-punch combo to the visibly startled Eddie Alvarez, TKO’ing the Philadelphian and winning himself the coveted lightweight title in the process.
The second is the immaculate head, body, head, head-kick combo used by light and welterweight-hopper Donald “Cowboy” Cerrone at UFC 202 to get the finish over contender Rick Story. The precision, the timing and the versatility shown by Cerrone during this ruthless attack only prove the man’s suitability for the 170lb division.
So which one is better? Personally, this writer would lean towards Cowboy. I remember seeing it live and just being baffled by the sheer fluidity of it all. Sure Conor’s won him the lightweight title and looked to be a very instinctual reaction to Eddie’s position but as far as pure poetry in motion goes, I can look no further than Cerrone.
Watch the video below and make your own mind up as to who is the king of the four-shot combo.
