Coach Owen Roddy Breaks Down Darren Till’s UFC Gdansk KO Of Donald Cerrone

SBG Ireland’s Coach Owen Roddy breaks down Darren Till’s thunderous knockout win over Donald Cerrone at UFC Gdansk.

European MMA is at a real high-point these days and at last weekend’s UFC Gdansk, we might just have found its newest star.

The unbeaten kickboxing supremo Darren Till managed to pull off one of the biggest upsets of the year so far by knocking out the veteran fan-favourite Donald ‘Cowboy’ Cerrone in the first round of their main-event fixture last Saturday night. For those who were perhaps unaware of Till’s pedigree, his name will now be a constant fixture in the list of young fighters who could well see themselves getting into the title race as we move into 2018.

It was the perfect performance from Till, everything from his octagon control to his distance management just seemed on point and for ‘Cowboy’, it was as though he was never really able to get going.

Obviously, Cerrone is known as a notoriously slow starter, but all in all, it was Till’s strategy and prowess on the feet that won it for him when all was said and done.

SBG Ireland’s famed striking coach Owen Roddy uploaded a video to the SBG Charlestown YouTube channel in which he broke down the Liverpool-native’s win and from what can be gathered from the video, it seems as though he was just as impressed as we were.
