Watch: Cian Cowley Looking Forward To Moving On From Bus-Debacle

Cian Cowley took home impressive first-round KO win over the week at BRAVE CF 13 and in a recent interview, spoke about his upcoming court-date in Brooklyn.

Cian Cowley’s pro-debut didn’t exactly as he would have hoped perhaps but over the weekend at BRAVE CF 13, he managed to prove that it was nothing more than an early-career mistep.

A first-round KO after some early adversity, Cowley managed to earn himself the praises of the MMA community for his showing in the SSE Arena and after the fight, his teammate Conor McGregor turned up to celebrate.

The pair, of course, got themselves into a spot of bother at the UFC 223 media day in April – where an infamous incident involving the bus of lightweight Khabib Nurmagomedov caused perhaps the biggest MMA story of the year.

Both Cowley and McGregor are scheduled to appear in court in Brooklyn, New York this Thursday and in an interview with MMAFighting following his BRAVE KO win, the SBG Ireland man made it clear that he wasn’t worried about the date.

Asked if the charges levelled against him could affect his fighting career, Cowley had this to say..

“I doubt it, to be honest. Sure what was it? It was nothing. We’ll just get it out of the way and then get back to work.

“Well, I have been working anyway. It was nothing, it was all blown up. That’s not even in my head anyway, ah it’s on Thursday, whatever.

“I was a name before, but it’s gone from people on the fight-scene knowing me to just normal ‘Joe-Soap’ knowing me. You decide yourself whether that’s a good or a bad thing.”

We’ll know a lot more about the future of the Irish prospect before the week is out, but with an important win for his career now under his belt, fans can now look forward to his next outing if things do go as smoothly as he says they will.
